The Ceiling Fan : A tale as old as time, yet intrinsic to the Indian summers in a way few things are. It may look innocuous but it keeps you cool, both literally and metaphorically. It brings a smile to your face, even as you strive to block out the lingering heat of the summer sun, which creeps in through the windows.

Recently moved to a new home? Spent a lot of money while moving? The last residents have discarded their old fan and you do not like it? It can happen to anyone! But pause for a minute; don’t discard it or throw it away.

A fancy ceiling fan may not be featuring in your budgetary plan right now, and there are other options available. Chin up, folks!

We have a quick DO IT YOURSELF (DIY) project for you which will transform that old pale-looking fan into something trendy and cool!

Materials

  • Frisket Film (available at any supply stores or just buy it from http://amzn.to/2qiN0r4)
  • Computer, Printer and Paper
  • Scissors
  • Spray Paint
  • Screw Driver
  • Masking Tape

Instructions

  1. Download and print the Chevron Pattern from http://bit.ly/2ruUNUa or http://bit.ly/2s3KXeN or http://bit.ly/2rC9IOG

  2. Spray adhesive onto the non-sticky side of the frisket paper and paste zigzag pattern and cut out zigzag.Frisket Film and Chevron Pattern to Decorate your Old Fan

  3. Dismantle the ceiling fan blades from the device, clean all blade surfaces – make sure it is clean and dry.Decorate your Fan by Dismantling the Fan

  4. Carefully peel down a zigzag tip to expose the sticky paper. Lay it down and slowly peel and stick the masking tape. Stick as many zigzags as desired.

  5. Carefully put masking tape on the fan-blade edges and any other part of the fan blade that you do not want painted.

  6. Now the fun part, Spray painting the blades! Let them dry, peel off your masking tape and you are done!
